WHAT’S BEHIND THE NAME OF OUR PROPERTY?

While Agincourt is a name originally made famous (or infamous depending on which side you were on) by a historic battle in Northern France between the French and the English in 1415 during the hundred-year war, there is a famous reef on the Great
Barrier Reef named Agincourt Reef.

It is a very popular diving and snorkelling spot off Port Douglas and consists of a series of many smaller reefs with at least 16 different dive sites. The Channels offer interesting swim-throughs and caves, while The Gardens are renowned for their exceptional abundance of brightly coloured reef fish. Blue Wonder is a breath-taking wall dive to beyond 40 metres while Nursery Bommie is a spectacular pinnacle where pelagic fish gather to feed.

There are several operators that can take you out there departing from Cairns Marina. You can also head up on the beautiful drive to Port Douglas where you will find smaller boutique like operators to take you there in smaller numbers.

Just remember to pack a swimsuit and everything else can be provided if required!
